100-strong event – phew!

100-strong event – phew!

Spring sprang in Waterloo on Saturday 10th March with a huge fruit-and-veg-athon. Nearly a hundred growers got together to sow plans for the 2012 growing year.  The occasion was a get together of South London Master Gardeners and some of the people they’ve been supporting with growing over the last 20 months.  Over a massive lunch our venue, the Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre, rang with chat and laughter.

A ‘carousel’ of activities lasted during the afternoon.  Links were made across our key boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Wandsworth, and fringes of neighbouring areas.  Master Gardeners had enjoyed a great morning’s train the trainer’s training with Mark Ridsill Smith on container growing.
