Free Food Growing Course for Croydon residents – now booking to start Sunday April 10th 2016

Croydon Master Gardeners will be supporting a free food growing course based at Wandle Park starting from April 2016.  EcoLocal will be running this course at the Wandle Park Community Garden in Croydon and volunteer Master Gardeners will be on hand to provide extra support and encouragement to those new growers who would like to undertake the course but who may lack the confidence to take that first step.  The course is aimed at those aged 16 years or above who are just starting out  or would like to get some more detailed knowledge of food growing.  Here are the details:-

Over 6 weeks you will learn everything that you need to know to confidently grow your own fruit and veg. including:

– Preparing your growing area

– Planning what to grow

– Planting techniques

– Taking care of your plants

– Feeding your soil

– Harvesting and storing produce

Over the six weeks you will get hands on experience as well as theoretical knowledge and the support of an experienced tutor. This course is AQA level 1 certified. If you are interested in certification, please ask for more details.

Held at:  Wandle Park Community Garden, Wandle Park, Cornwall Road, Croydon, CR0 3RD

  • Sunday 8th May
  • Sunday 22nd May
  • Sunday 5th June
  • Sunday 19th June

Time: 11am-1pm
